Each Linux game installer comes in two flavors: DEB and Tarball.
DEB (.deb) installers are meant for Debian based systems (which includes Ubuntu and Mint) and provide you with a fully automated experience. We recommend that you use our DEB installers for a hassle free process where little can go wrong.
Tarball (.tar.gz) packages are essentially a compressed file containing the game and a shell script to launch it. We provide this as a backup option in case you encounter any problems with the DEB installer, and as a gesture towards our more experienced users who might want a bit more control, and a more universal solution.
