Where can I check out GOG SDK and the tools to release my games?
All of the necessary information to start your journey through GOG GALAXY, and make it a pleasant one, can be found here.
I am not a developer but I would like to see a certain game release on GOG. What should I do?
Even if you're not a developer, you can still make a difference! Head over to the GOG Community Wishlist and vote for the game you want to see on our platform. Keep in mind that there may be plenty of reasons as to why a game is not being released on GOG – many classics can't be released due to their legal situation or technical difficulties.
That being said, we keep track of the games listed in our Community Wishlist and jump on every opportunity to bring them back. Every vote counts!
What games are not eligible for being published on GOG?
At GOG we value our community and their wellbeing. We also have our own values that we aim to uphold. That is why we have established a set of rules regarding the content we are distributing.
Any content to be released on the GOG platform or under any GOG-related brand needs to comply with the below guidelines. We understand that assessing what content is appropriate might be subjective and difficult, however, we are hoping you will understand that we must reserve our right to reject content applications in some cases.
Product content must be accurate and consistent with the product description. Once rated, content must be compliant with guidelines provided by the applicable rating authority (PEGI, ESRB, USK etc.).
Elements that cannot be involved in the content to be released via the GOG platform:
- Any kind of sexual exploitation of minors
- Encouragement or promoting real-world violence, terrorism, harassment, bullying, self-harm, sexual coercion, racism, discrimination against groups or individuals or any illegal acts
- Pornography or explicit or frequent depictions of sexual behavior not appropriately labeled or rated
- Elements infringing third-party intellectual property or other rights of third parties
- Malware, scam or fraudulent schemes
There might be some other limitations as for the content that GOG will distribute.
The following aspects should be flagged to our Team for review during your content onboarding process:
- Online gambling or elements thereof (like loot boxes)
- Adult sexual content
- Realistic and disturbing depictions of acts of violence, including animal cruelty
- Linking to 3rd party or external stores from game menu
- Blockchain technology implemented into the game
If you would like to discuss any of the above aspects with our Team, please contact inquiries@gog.com
I would like to get feedback about my game. Is this the right place?
While we are unable to provide feedback for games in the early stage of development, we encourage you to submit your game once it reaches the final stage or if it has already been released elsewhere. We're always excited to review and consider games that are ready to make their mark.
When will I hear back from you?
Rest assured that we'll be in touch if we decide to release your game on GOG. However, please keep in mind that if the game does not meet our quality standards and/or includes content not eligible for being published on GOG, we reserve the right to refrain from directly reaching out. We're committed to providing a human touch throughout the process, which means it may take some time as we carefully review all submissions. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we do our best to give each submission the attention it deserves.
