GOG COINS RULES

1. About GOG Coins and these Rules
1.1. GOG Coins is a loyalty feature available to GOG Patrons. Through GOG Coins, you can collect Coins in connection with your continuous GOG Patrons membership, including for successfully paid monthly GOG Patrons billing periods and for other activities that we may make available from time to time. You can then use Coins to unlock benefits made available under the Coins Rules or the terms applicable to the relevant benefit (each, a “Benefit”). This is our way of thanking you for continuing to support GOG’s mission and offering additional benefits connected with continuous membership.
1.2. These GOG Coins Rules (the “Coins Rules”) form an annex to the GOG Patrons Terms (the “Patrons Terms”) and are part of the agreement between you and GOG relating to GOG Patrons. Capitalised terms that are not defined in the Coins Rules have the meanings given to them in the Patrons Terms or the User Agreement.
1.3. If the Coins Rules conflict with the Patrons Terms, the Coins Rules will prevail only in matters relating to GOG Coins and Benefits. The Patrons Terms will continue to govern, in particular, payments for GOG Patrons, automatic renewals, cancellation of GOG Patrons, withdrawal rights, changes to the service, support and complaints.
1.4. GOG Coins are available from 21 September 2026. We will inform you of any discontinuation of GOG Coins or any material change to its availability in accordance with Section 7 and the Patrons Terms.
1.5. GOG Coins is available in beta and may be developed or improved. Its beta status does not, however, limit any rights you have under the Coins Rules or applicable law.
1.6. Using GOG Coins does not require any additional payment beyond the GOG Patrons fee. The introduction of GOG Coins does not itself change your GOG Patrons fee, billing cycle, renewal or cancellation rules. GOG Coins does not change the primary purpose of GOG Patrons, which is to allow you to support GOG and our mission to make games live forever.
1.7. GOG Coins is available only in countries where we make GOG Patrons available and technically support the awarding of Coins and the use of Benefits. Information about availability will be shown on the GOG Patrons page or in your GOG account.
1.8. Any Schedule to these Coins Rules forms part of the Coins Rules. If a Schedule conflicts with the main body of the Coins Rules, that Schedule will prevail only in relation to the Benefit it governs.
2. Who can use GOG Coins
2.1. You can earn Coins through GOG Coins if, throughout the relevant period: (a) you have a valid and unrestricted GOG account; (b) you have an active GOG Patrons membership; (c) you meet the requirements set out in the Patrons Terms; and (d) GOG Coins is available in your country. To unlock a particular Benefit, you must also meet any requirements set out in the terms applicable to that Benefit, and that Benefit must be available to you.
2.2. If you meet the conditions for using GOG Coins, you will be included automatically. You do not need to subscribe to a newsletter or consent to marketing. You can choose not to use the feature by not claiming a Benefit and not participating in additional activities, or you can end your GOG Patrons membership in accordance with the Patrons Terms.
2.3. You can use GOG Coins only through your own GOG account. Coins cannot be combined or transferred between accounts.
3. How you earn Coins
3.1. Except for the launch allocation described below, you will receive one Coin at the beginning of each monthly GOG Patrons billing period that starts while GOG Coins is available, once payment for that period has been successfully collected. On 21 September 2026, if you have an active GOG Patrons membership, you will receive one Coin as the first Coin in your first GOG Coins cycle, regardless of when your current billing period began. After that date, Coins will be awarded according to your normal GOG Patrons billing periods as described above.
3.2. Coins are awarded based on successfully paid GOG Patrons billing periods, not calendar months. For example, if payment is successfully collected on 12 October and again on 12 November, one Coin will be awarded on each of those dates.
3.3. For consecutive periods to be treated as uninterrupted, your GOG Patrons membership must not end between them. Merely turning off automatic renewal does not interrupt the current, already paid billing period.
3.4. If a GOG Patrons payment fails, the payment retry rules described in the Patrons Terms will apply. A Coin will be awarded only after the payment has been successfully processed. If the payment remains unsuccessful after the applicable retry period and your GOG Patrons membership ends your unused Coins will expire.
3.5. If you cancel automatic renewal of GOG Patrons, you will not receive any further Coins unless another GOG Patrons payment is successfully collected before your membership ends. Your existing Coins will expire as described in Section 6. What happens to a Benefit that you have already unlocked or claimed when your membership ends will be determined by the terms applicable to that Benefit, including any applicable Schedule to the Coins Rules.
3.6. We may make additional ways of earning Coins available, including challenges and purchase-related, community or other activities available through GOG services. Further details of any such activities may be made available through the relevant GOG service or otherwise communicated by GOG from time to time.
3.7. Participation in additional activities is voluntary. Unless we expressly state otherwise, making such activities available will not limit the Coins earned for successfully paid GOG Patrons billing periods.
3.8. If an GOG Patrons payment, or a transaction or activity for which we awarded a Coin, is cancelled, refunded, reversed or subject to a chargeback, we may withdraw the corresponding Coin. If the Coin has already contributed to unlocking a Benefit, we may cancel the unused Benefit. If the Benefit has already been used, we may instead adjust your current or future Coin balance or progress to reflect the withdrawal of the Coin. This does not apply where applicable law requires otherwise or where the consequences should be borne by GOG because of our error.
3.9. Coins are only digital indicators of progress within GOG Coins. They are not money, virtual currency, a means of payment or electronic money. They cannot be purchased, sold, cashed out, transferred to another person or exchanged for cash or the GOG Patrons fee.
4. Benefits available for Coins
4.1. From time to time, we may make Benefits available based on the Coins you have collected. The type of Benefit, the number of Coins you need to have collected, its availability period and the conditions for unlocking, claiming and using it will be described through the relevant GOG service or in terms made available in connection with that Benefit, including any applicable Schedule to these Coins Rules.
4.2. Benefits may be offered for a limited period and are not permanent features of GOG Coins. Holding Coins does not guarantee that any particular Benefit will remain available.
4.3. We may add, change, suspend or withdraw Benefits in accordance with these Coins Rules and the Patrons Terms.
4.4. Unless otherwise stated in the terms applicable to the relevant Benefit, including any applicable Schedule, a Benefit that you have already unlocked or claimed will not be affected solely because we stop making that Benefit available under GOG Coins. However, the Benefit may expire, be used, suspended, cancelled or invalidated in accordance with the terms applicable to that Benefit, including where its validity period ends, it has been successfully used, the relevant transaction is cancelled, refunded or subject to a chargeback, or where this is required by law or necessary due to fraud, abuse, security, objective technical impossibility beyond our reasonable control or an error resulting in an undue benefit.
5. Transactions involving Benefits
5.1. If a transaction in which a Benefit was used is cancelled, refunded, reversed or subject to a chargeback, the consequences for that Benefit will be determined by the terms applicable to it, including any relevant Schedule to these Coins Rules, and applicable law.
6. End of GOG Patrons and expiry of Coins
6.1. If your GOG Patrons membership actually ends, you will no longer be eligible to receive Coins. Any Coins collected will expire when your GOG Patrons membership ends.
6.2. If you restart GOG Patrons after your membership has ended, you will start a new Coin collection cycle. One Coin will be awarded following the first successful GOG Patrons payment after you restart GOG Patrons. Any Coins held before your membership ended will not be restored.
7. Discontinuation or suspension of GOG Coins
7.1. If we discontinue GOG Coins, we will stop awarding new Coins after the date we specify. We will inform you of any planned discontinuation in accordance with this Section and the Patrons Terms.
7.2. The effect of discontinuing GOG Coins on Benefits that have already been unlocked or claimed is governed by Section 4.4 and the terms applicable to the relevant Benefit.
7.3. The Coins Rules do not constitute a promise that any particular Benefit, any particular way of earning Coins, seasonal bonuses or additional features will remain available indefinitely. We will inform you of any new benefits or ways of earning Coins, and the terms applicable to them, before making them available.
7.4. We may discontinue or suspend GOG Coins for an important reason, in particular where required by law or a decision of a competent authority, where there is a serious security risk or abuse, where continued operation of GOG Coins becomes impossible for technical reasons or reasons beyond GOG’s control or where, following evaluation of the beta, continued operation of GOG Coins is no longer reasonably viable from a technical, operational or commercial perspective. Unless the circumstances require immediate or quicker action, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance.
8. Changes to the Coins Rules and GOG Coins
8.1. The rules on changes described in Section 6 of the Patrons Terms also apply to the Coins Rules and GOG Coins.
8.2. Subject to the rules described in Section 6 of the Patrons Terms, we may in particular change the Coins Rules or GOG Coins in order to: (a) add, change or remove ways of earning Coins, including challenges, gamification and purchase-related or community activities; (b) add, change or remove benefits available for Coins or the rules for using them; (c) adapt GOG Coins to technical or organisational changes; (d) prevent fraud, abuse or security risks; (e) adapt GOG Coins to applicable law, decisions of competent authorities or changes to the terms of our arrangements with GOG partners; or (f) clarify ambiguities or improve the operation of GOG Coins.
8.3. A new, voluntary way of earning Coins or an additional benefit that does not limit existing ways of earning Coins or adversely affect your existing rights may be made available before the standard notice period specified in the Patrons Terms has expired. In that case, we will show you its rules before you use the new feature and, where required, ask you to accept them in advance.
8.4. Changes will generally not apply retroactively and will not deprive you of properly awarded Coins or a Benefit that has already been unlocked or claimed, unless the change is necessary because of applicable law, security, fraud, abuse or an error resulting in an undue benefit being awarded.
8.5. We will inform you, in the manner and within the notice period specified in the Patrons Terms, of any material change that limits an existing way of earning Coins, increases the number of Coins required to unlock a Benefit, reduces the Benefit’s value or otherwise adversely affects you.
9. Technical errors and abuse
9.1. We aim to ensure that GOG Coins works properly, but it may occasionally be subject to interruptions, maintenance or errors. A technical interruption will not in itself result in the loss of properly awarded Coins or a properly unlocked or claimed Benefit.
9.2. We may correct your Coin balance or the status of a Benefit if it was awarded, deducted or marked incorrectly as a result of an obvious error. We will inform you of the correction if it negatively affects your balance or Benefit.
9.3. Data recorded in GOG’s systems will be the basis for determining billing periods, qualifying activities, payments, Coin balances, and the unlocking, claiming and use of Benefits. You may, however, report an error and provide information showing that the system data is incorrect.
9.4. You may not use GOG Coins in a way that is unlawful or inconsistent with its purpose or the Coins Rules. This includes, in particular, creating multiple accounts to obtain additional Coins, manipulating payments, transactions or activities, exploiting technical errors, automatically collecting Coins or Benefits, or commercially reselling Benefits where this is prohibited by the terms applicable to them.
9.5. If we have reasonable grounds to suspect abuse, we may temporarily suspend the awarding of Coins, the ability to unlock, claim or use a Benefit for the time necessary to investigate the matter. If the abuse is confirmed, we may withdraw benefits obtained through the abuse or exclude you from GOG Coins. We will apply a measure proportionate to the breach and inform you of the reason, unless immediate action is necessary for security or legal reasons.
10. Contact and complaints
10.1. If a Coin does not appear in your profile, you cannot unlock, claim or use a Benefit, or you have another question about GOG Coins, contact us through the channels specified in Section 7 of the Patrons Terms.
10.2. To help us review the matter, provide the email address associated with your GOG account, a description of the issue, the approximate date of the event and, where relevant, the order number and a screenshot. Failure to provide information that we can establish ourselves will not automatically result in the complaint being rejected.
10.3. We handle complaints concerning GOG Coins in accordance with the procedure described in the User Agreement and the Patrons Terms. This does not limit any rights you have under applicable law.
11. Personal data, communications
11.1. Information about how we process personal data in connection with GOG Patrons and GOG Coins is available in our Privacy Policy.
11.2. To operate GOG Coins, we will process information necessary to determine your GOG Patrons status, successfully paid billing periods, qualifying activities, Coin balance, the unlocking, claiming and use of Benefits, the handling of complaints and the prevention of abuse.
11.3. We may send you operational communications directly related to GOG Coins, such as information about a Coin being awarded, a Benefit being unlocked or approaching its expiry date, changes to the Coins Rules, or the discontinuation or suspension of GOG Coins. These communications do not depend on your consent to marketing. We will send promotional messages in accordance with the applicable rules.
11.4. We may ask you to provide optional feedback on GOG Coins, including through a survey or a dedicated space for Patrons on Discord. You are not required to provide Feedback. Your use of Discord is subject to the terms of that third-party platform, and GOG Support remains an alternative contact channel.
12. Other legal information
12.1. The Coins Rules and any applicable Schedules are available free of charge on the GOG website in a format that allows you to save, download and reproduce them.
12.2. Matters not addressed in the Coins Rules or an applicable Schedule are governed by the Patrons Terms and the User Agreement.
12.3. The provisions of the Patrons Terms concerning governing law, jurisdiction, mandatory consumer rights, language versions and the processing of personal data apply to the Coins Rules and any applicable Schedules.
12.4. If any provision of the Coins Rules or an applicable Schedule is found to be invalid or unenforceable, this will not affect the remaining provisions unless applicable law requires otherwise.
